Quick sketch just scribbling something, still working on improving my time spent, and trying more and more to start right on colour instead of a monochrome start. In this one I probably used 15 min or so, but I didn't focus too much either. Just trying to have a bit fun with it.

Oh and also I'm on my way to London tomorrow, graduation ceremony and old friends to meet up with. But when I'm back I hope to get time to paint a lot more than I have recently, due to work and a project I cant say anything about just yet, it's not painting, but it's fun.

Yes I have a hard time keeping it short, but that's also going to improve!

Cheers!

Back on track!

Hey there, it's been a while!

It's a long time since I have posted anything on my blog. No excuses, haven't been in the mood for
a while.
Well, now that I am back again I will start posting sketches and other ideas I have experimented with.
The only work I have posted over the many months are the few works on my main website, at
filipe.fernandesillustration.com.

So here's some ideas, experiments or finished work I have done lately.

Please comment and give feedback!

Frank Stockton, have a look at his website, or blog. His work is great, and a big source of inspiration for me. His work just has a great sense of energy and movement, pluss the colours he chooses are superb.

Untill next time! Thanks!

Introduction page for my portfolio, just to make it stand out straight away. This way
people who look into my portfolio at the degree show and Rare show will also have the chance to
reckognize me if they want to find me.

Well, thats it, the last image I did in university. Now it is up to me where I want to go, and how
I develop and grow. This is a image I did about the London 2012 olympics, where
I was really disturbed by the enormous military presence. For me it completely ruins the spirit of the event, and having 13.000 soldiers stationed in London, plus antiaircraft guns, hangar ship, jetplanes etc is to me hysterical.

By the way, I am at a gallery show called Rare, please visit us there in central London. For more info go to  http://rare2012.com/

Thanks for reading! Graduation, here I come!

Here is a small update on what I am doing at the moment. This is what I have made so far on my new book for Pan MacMillan "The adventures of Tom Sawyer", where MacMillan wanted me to illustrate a follow up book of the one I did on Huckleberry Finn. At the same time I am working on building my portfolio, so that I can bolster and strenghten my portofolio website. Enjoy!

Also: I will update ASAP with new work on my self initiated project, criticising the military presence for the 2012 London Olympics.

Beyond the Wall - A Feast for Crows

Still working on my photoshop skills. I have been trying to speed paint landscapes for a day, and after a couple of tries I ended up with this. I am not very happy about it, but techniqally I have learned quite a bit with this piece.

Oh well, practise practise!
